Detailed itinerary of 7 Days Masai Mara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater Safari 

Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara, Game Drive

Your Kenya safari guide shall pick you from your hotel in Nairobi city or on arrival from the airport. He will brief you about the safari. After briefing about your Kenya wildlife safari, you shall start your drive to the Maasai land through different villages and famous Maasai town where we will have a brief stop for craft shopping.  You will then proceed to the lodge, check in, have refreshments and if time permits head out for an evening game drive in Masai Mara in search for African big five like lions, leopards, Rhinos, Elephants, Buffalos and other game. Return back to our lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2&3: Full Day Game Drive in Masai Mara game reserve, Maasai Cultural Tour

You will wake up early for our African breakfast and get ready for the long awaited day in Masai Mara national reserve. After an early breakfast, with your lunch boxes head out for a full day in the Masai Mara plains. Other animals in Masai Mara to view include large pride of lions, zebras, leopards, Elephants, giraffes and many more. Return to the lodge, relax as you wait for lunch.

After lunch, we go for an evening game drive in search of more animals especially pointing at what we might have missed during the previous dates. You will go for another game drive following different tracks, which will give you an opportunity to see even more animals, chancing to witness the Great wildebeest migration if in season. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer from Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park

You will have a very early breakfast and checkout from the lodge as early as possible around  7 am. We drive out of the reserve through the Oloololo gate in the western part of the reserve to the boarder of Isebania. We get clearance from the border customs office then after proceed to Serengeti National Park. Have an en-route game drive as you drive to your lodge. Check in, relax as you wait for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

After your early breakfast at the lodge, drive out for a full day game drive with our lunch boxes along the Seronera area. Enjoy the big game around Seronera River, some of the wildlife to look out for in this section include the Lions, Thomson gazelles, topi, ostriches and cheetahs.

After your game drive, you will proceed to the Visitor Centre where we have our lunch break open our lunch boxes. The Tourist Information Centre offers some interesting wildlife displays as well as a gift shop selling information leaflets and maps of the area. The shop also has a refreshment area, and we shall have our lunch from here.

In the evening go for a game drive to the Kopjes the weathered granite outcrops, scattered around the plains, most of which are miniature ecosystems, providing shade and drinking water in pools left in the rock after the rains. The Kopjes are good hunting grounds for lions especially in dry seasons when most wildlife come to have a dip and drink up. Look for other animals which we might have missed during the morning game drive. Return for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Olduvai Gorge Visit, Optional Crater Rim Walk

Enjoy your breakfast at the lodge, and then proceed for a transfer out of the Serengeti enjoying yet another game viewing experience with your packed lunch as you drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

You will get to visit the Olduvai Gorge for a chance to learn about the early life of man and findings by Dr. Mary and Louis Leaky.

Proceed through the conservation area enjoying game viewing as well as spot the local Maasai people freely moving within the conservancy and the wildlife!

Proceed to the lodge, check in and relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Drive, Departure

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge and with your packed lunch proceed to descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife for a half day’s safari tour. Supported by year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot.

You will also visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually have been seen here.

Enjoy your lunch in the crater floor as you marvel at the picturesque scenery. Proceed for a transfer to Arusha, bringing your safari to an end. Depending on how long you would like to spend at the crater floor, you can be back in Arusha as early as 4/5pm, with a drop off at the Kilimanjaro Airport. This brings your safari to an end.
