Bwindi National Park
Bwindi impenetrable national park is one of the most visited national parks in Uganda situated in southwestern area on the edge of the rift valley in Kanungu district.
The national park covers an area of 321 square kilometres and was gazetted in 1991 for the most part to save and conserve the mountain gorillas. Bwindi impervious national park was declared a UNESCO world legacy site in 1994 because of its exceptional biodiversity.
Bwindi impenetrable national park harbours a variety of wildlife species such as 120 mammal species including forest elephants, buffaloes, bush pigs, giant forest hogs, duikers, primates like the endangered mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, blue monkeys among others. Apart from mammals, the park is also a birder’s haven with more than 350 bird species including grauers broadbill, handsome francolin, black billed turaco, mountain masked apalis, regal sunbird, western bronze napped pigeon among others.

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Mgahinga national Park is one of the smallest national parks but yet the most extravagant as far as safari activities in Uganda covering a complete area of 33.7 square kilometers and lies between the elevations of 2227m and 4127m and is situated in Bufumbira County of Kisoro district. Mgahinga national park was established in 1991 to majorly protect the endangered mountain gorillas.
Mgahinga national park covers the northern slopes of the three Virunga volcanoes which are mount Muhavura at 4127m, mount Gahinga at 3474m and mount Sabinyo at 3645m.
Mgahinga Gorilla Park is a home to over 76 mammal species including the famous mountain gorillas, buffaloes, elephants, endangered golden monkeys, giant forest hogs, leopards, spotted hyenas, bushbucks, black-fronted duikers among others plus it is also a birder’s haven with over 115 bird species including black kite, ibis, paradise flycatcher, double-collared sunbird, white-necked raven among others.

Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison falls National Park is the most seasoned and biggest savannah public park in Uganda situated in north western piece of Uganda towards the finish of the Albertine break valley.
Murchison Falls national park was first gazetted as a game reserve in 1926 and later gazetted as a national park in 1952. Murchison falls park covers a complete area of 3,840 square kilometres and is divided by the Victoria Nile into two areas that is the northern and the southern area.
Murchison falls national park harbour a variety of wildlife including about 76 mammal species including the big four of the big five mammals that is elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, other animals like giraffes, warthogs, hippos, Jacksons hartebeest, waterbucks among others. It also harbors primate species including over 800 chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, olive baboons among others while on a Uganda safari.
The national park is also one of the best birding destinations in that it harbors over 450 bird species including the elusive shoebill stork, squacco heron, African jacana, Abyssinian ground hornbill, Denham’s bustard, white browed sparrow weaver, red throated bee-eater, blue headed coucal, goliath heron, African quail-finch among others.

Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park is Located in Kasese District. The park is made up of moist forests, lakes, wetlands, sprawling savanna which makes it a good habitat for various wildlife species, primates and birdlife.
Queen Elizabeth National Park covers area of about 1978 square kilometres with a variety of species that is over 95 mammal species such as the famous tree-climbing lions which has made the park to be known worldwide, elephants, Uganda kobs, Topis, duiker, common warthogs, buffaloes, leopards, primates like unique chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, Red tailed monkey, blue monkeys, mongoose among others and it is haven for bird paradise with over 600 species such as the rare shoe bill stock, African finfoot, African hobby, Broad-billed roller, Caspian plover, Palm-nut vulture, Pink-backed pelican, Red Chested Sunbird, Grey-winged robin chat, Great blue turaco, African Skimmer, Yellow-bellied wattle among others.
