Nairobi National Park is located in the southern part of Nairobi, central Kenya, and it was the first park established in the region in 1946, making it the oldest of all Kenya national parks. The park is situated outside and close to Nairobi city center, just 7 km away.

Nairobi National Park covers a total area of 117 square kilometers and lies about 5,000–6,000 feet above sea level. The Park is found in Kenya, an East African country with a coastline in the Indian Ocean and it’s the smallest park among Kenya’s other national parks.

Nairobi national park is considered to be the great wildlife destination in Kenya that attracts over 150,000 visitors to the park in a year.

Detailed itinerary

1 Day: Nairobi National Park.

You start the trip at 7 am, where you will be picked up by a company representative from the hotel of residence or airport. Nairobi City Center is 7 km away from the park, making it ideal for half-day or full-day excursions. It is one of the places where you can do a safari with skyscrapers as part of your backdrop. The beautifully landscaped city scrapers and buildings in Nairobi National Park offer particularly unique views. It is the home of a wide variety of wildlife, including the endangered black rhino, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes, and a diverse birdlife with over 400 species recorded.

From 7 am to 10 am—enjoy wildlife game viewing in Nairobi National Park , where you will be able to see all the animals mentioned above.

From 11am to midday. You visit The David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, where young Orphaned elephants are brought after being rescued and fed till they are mature enough to be released to the wild.

Then, after lunch, visit the giraffe center, where you will be able to feed the friendly Rothschild giraffe. They accept a kiss as they pick their food from your palm.

You can choose to do either a half day or a full day of all the mentioned activities above, and then later  exit the park and proceed to Nairobi, where you will be dropped off at the airport or your hotel.
