Detailed Itinerary of 5 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Visit Nairobi National Park And Giraffe Center

You will be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi and head to Nairobi National park for a morning game drive, as you enter the park, you will be welcomed by the scenic backdrop of the city’s skyscrapers in contrast to the savannah landscape in the world. During the game drive you will be able to see a variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and warthogs, among others.

After the game drive you will exit the park at around 1 pm, have lunch and then head to the Giraffe Center, where you will meet the giraffes and have a chance to feed them from the raised platforms. In the evening you will head back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Masai Mara and Afternoon Game drive

After breakfast, you depart for the Maasai Mara national reserve with a drive through the Great Rift Valley floor and western escarpments formed centuries ago due to the natural shifting of the earth’s tectonic plates. You will arrive in the reserve in time for lunch; in the afternoon you will go for a game viewing experience, driving through the rolling hills and the open plains of the reserve. During the experience you will spot a variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, wildebeests, elands, and gazelles, among others. In the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Maasai Mara national reserve hosts one of the world’s most spectacular dramas, which is The Great annual wildebeest migration happening between July and October. in this annual movement, more than one million wildebeests and hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles migrate northward from the Serengeti to Maasai Mara national reserve. During the journey, these animals encounter dangers and hazards from predators—crossing the Mara River, which is infested with Nile Crocodiles.

 In the afternoon you can do an optional visit to the Masai Village, where you will engage with the community members and learn local dances and the culture of the Maasai Community. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

 Day 3: Full day in Maasai Mara

Have morning breakfast at your lodge, then head to Masai Mara national reserve for a full day of game viewing on a morning and afternoon game drive with your packed lunch, on the game drives you will have an opportunity to explore the endless plains of Masai Mara national reserve and as you drive through the reserve, you will spot many animals such as lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, cheetahs, waterbucks, antelopes, African wild dogs, hyenas and many more. You will have a picnic lunch set at the banks of the Mara River while enjoying views of animals drinking at the waters of the river and Nile crocodiles. In the evening you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

 Day 4:  Transfer from Maasai Mara To Lake Nakuru

As early as 6:00 am you will head to the plains of Mara for an early morning game drive searching for animals such as leopards, lions, cheetahs and many more. After the experience you will head back to your lodge for breakfast, then check out and embark on a drive to Lake Nakuru national park, Lake Nakuru national park is a fascinating national park famously known for the largest population of rhinos in Kenya and a large concentration of pink flamingoes crowding the shores of Lake Nakuru.

When you arrive in the park you will check into your lodge for lunch, and then in the afternoon, you will go for an afternoon game drive in the park sighting rhinos, lions, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes and many more. After the game drive you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

 Day 5: Transfer From Lake Nakuru National Park To Nairobi

Wake up early for a cup of coffee and head to the reserve for an early morning game drive for an opportunity to watch the nocturnal and semi-nocturnal animals, such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, and African wild dogs, among others, which are rarely seen during the hot sunlight of the day.

After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for breakfast, then check out and embark on a journey back to Nairobi. When you reach the city, you will be dropped off either at the hotel or at the airport for your departure flight back home.
